Project Night

  • Photosynthesis 10/400 Saint Asaph Street Christchurch, Canterbury, 8011 New Zealand (map)

Conceptualising your first project or veteran artist polishing off your magnum opus: photo projects can be big undertakings. All project stages and levels of experience are welcome: this night brings together people passionate about art and loads you full of creativity.

The evening starts with 20 minute slots featuring three projects. In the first 10 minutes, each of the three artists will talk about their project: its current stage, future plans, previous work, challenges, aims… whatever! Presenters can show printed work or use our 4K projector. In the second 10 minutes, we throw the discussion of their project open to everyone. Critique, comment, construct, and encourage.

The second hour is all about discussion. We could break off into groups to talk, meet new people and strengthen existing ties. Grab a prompt from the box to spark new conversational directions. Back together, we can open the floor for anyone to share.

Project nights are the best way to network with peers, share resources, bounce ideas around and get inspired. Everybody’s experience and perspective contributes to this laid-back creative environment.
