Collected Light
An open call for photography and art made with light. No set theme.
Entries close 1 November 2026 at 11:59 pm NZDT
Selected work will be shown at Photosynthesis in Ōtautahi Christchurch. Artists of all ages and experience levels can enter up to three still works made with light, including photographs, prints, photo books and zines. A panel will choose the works after entries close.

After closing · A panel reviews entries. Selection results date to be announced.
From 28 November · Installation begins.
4 December · Opening night. Time to be announced.

What to send
Enter one to three works. For each one, give us a title, a short description, an image and your display plan.
Size and display
There’s no size limit. Give us the finished outside height and width in millimetres, including any frame or mount. Add the depth if it matters. If you haven’t printed the work yet, enter the size you plan to make. Please check your measurements: later changes need our approval so we can plan the gallery layout.
Selection and sales
We can’t include every entry in the show. You can offer your work for sale; Photosynthesis keeps 20% of any sale.

We’ll run print workshops throughout November. Dates and booking details will follow.
