sponsor being confirmed
Sponsored Photosynthesis exhibitions seasons run for 10 weeks at no cost to the exhibitors. 1 or 2 exhibitions are held at once and run for 2 or 3 weeks during the season.
We welcome proposals from all. emerging, mid-career, and established artists, as well as collectives, curators, and community groups.
All work is photography in the broadest sense: anything that is made with using light.
Curation and scheduling recommendations are made by a volunteer panel made of community peers.
An opening is held on the first Wednesday. Workshops, talks, demonstrations and other events are encouraged, connecting with our passionate community and making use of our studio, darkroom and exhibition spaces.
Professional, affordable fine art printing can be done by exhibiting artists with our rentable digital workspace.

Gallery Layout
Artists are encouraged to consider spacing, viewing distance, and visual flow across the wall when planning their exhibition.
Large Wall
The large exhibition wall is the primary space within the gallery. It consists of white-painted MDF panels over a block wall that is 13.8m long with a 2.4m tall white display area.
It is well suited to major solo exhibitions, large group shows, thematic presentations, or installation-style displays.
Small Wall
The smaller exhibition area consists of four walls of total length 9 metres with vertical wood panelling over black acoustic felt.
Optional suspended panels can be used, with white or black face: 3x 900mm + 2x 2400mm, all 1200mm tall.
This space is ideal for smaller exhibitions, emerging artists, focused projects, or companion displays.
The alcove shape also lends itself to projection, display on plinths and more creative display approaches.
