"Light Across the Land brings together landscape photographs that explore how natural light shapes New Zealand’s natural environment. Mountain ranges, forests, beaches, and lakes are shown at moments when dramatic light falls across a surface — highlighting the grain of stone, the movement of water, the depth of a hillside — encouraging the viewer to pause and look more closely.
The work follows shifting conditions of natural light from soft, diffuse illumination to sharp, directional shadows, showing how each transforms a scene. Strong foreground highlights often anchor the composition, drawing the eye through the frame and exposing structural detail and texture.
Influenced by Andris Apse, Daniel Casson, Hannes Becker, and Meghan Maloney, the series celebrates quiet drama of the natural world."
